What is the Music Appreciation Project (MAP)?
The Music Appreciation Project (MAP) was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2015 to supply at-risk youth with musical instruments and lessons. This program gives young people the creative outlet that they need to live fulfilling and enriching lives.
As the arts programs are disappearing from public education, the need for programs such as MAP is now more imperative than ever. The team behind MAP is a diverse group of musicians and educators with a passion for improving the lives of youth in the community.
The 5K for $5K Music Run is the first annual race to raise much-needed funds for the MAP program and is organized in conjunction with the William Burchett Foundation (WBF) Scholarship and is made possible with the help of local sponsors.
Race day is May 21st, 2017 at Bear Creek Lake in Morrison, Colorado. Register now to pledge your support for MAP and to enjoy a fun-filled day outdoors with music, refreshments, and, of course, a 5K race that is perfect for the whole family! Early bird registration discounts available!
